Happy New Year 2025!
Reflecting on the year 2024, we’ve all experienced our share of highs and lows, but we are deeply grateful for the good moments and experiences that shaped us.
Each January, many of us set goals and resolutions for the New Year—often focusing on improving health and incorporating exercise into our routines. Research reveals the top fitness trends each year, and 2025 is no exception. This year’s top trends include:
- Functional fitness, HIIT training, and body-weight training
- Wearable technology and mobile fitness apps
- Exercise for mental health to improve quality of life
Studies show that regular exercise leads to:
- Reduced risk of chronic illness
- Enhanced cognitive function
- Increased independence
These benefits are especially vital for older adults, fostering a sense of community and support that helps maintain motivation and adherence.

In Loving Memory of Jennifer West
This holiday season, we sadly lost one of our beloved yoga teachers, Jennifer West. Jennifer was a kind and attentive instructor who created a nurturing atmosphere, welcoming and serving our club members for over 15 years. We will cherish her memory and miss her dearly.
In honor of Jennifer, we will hold a dedication yoga class on Sunday, January 19 @ 4 PM, led by our dedicated yoga team.
At the time of writing, there is no date set for her memorial service. However, there may be an opportunity to donate to a cause dear to Jennifer’s heart. She was passionate about rescuing, fostering, and caring for cats and dogs during her work at the Veterinary Clinic in Castro Valley. Our hearts go out to the West family and her loved ones during this time.

We are pleased to welcome Amber, a new yoga teacher, to our community. Amber trained at the Shambhava School of Yoga in Denver, Colorado, and brings expertise in therapeutic yoga, pain management, and holistic wellness.

Upcoming Events & Workshops
Kidfit Valentine Dance Workshop
- Date: Sunday, February 9
- Time: 10:00 AM
- Ages: 7–11 years old
- Fee: Free!
This special Valentine-themed dance workshop is perfect for kids who enjoy the art of dance. They’ll learn a “friendship” dance combo in this fun and creative class. Kids are encouraged to wear red or a heart-themed shirt for a special treat.

- Ages: 4–11 years old
